A Flier for Camp Tipsy

A Flier for Camp Tipsy

Camp Tipsy is an annual event created by Chicken John and put on by the San Francisco Institute of Possibility. Its a boat building contest and camp-out,  a fun and family-friendly event. Participants build “boats” out of junk and enjoy boating and floating in the reservoir (or as they call it, Lake Lodoga). The wonderful, whimsical, stupid boats compete for valueless prizes in a Boat Contest.Screen Shot 2015-05-11 at 9.25.54 PM

A kickstarter has just been launched to fund new art/junk/boats – chip in.

I illustrated the previous flier, which is a lot of fun, particularly because its a stretch for me. Illustration is something I rarely do, and it doesn’t come without some discomfort. My style is a collage of found images, modified, customized and placed together to tell a story.

The first flier showed vintage illustrated folks enjoying water sports, obliviously boating on, diving off of, and swimming around a giant whale.

Tipsy is 4th of July weekend. You can buy tickets at, and you can chip in to support the kickstarter too.
