My Burning Man Metropolis poster on New Girl

Burning Man Metropolis poster on the New Girl

An amusing/insightful conversation on Reddit about my Burning Man 2010 Metropolis poster:

______

This poster has been on their wall all three seasons, it’s not new.

______

Yep, but I don’t know if any of the characters on the show seem like burners. They all seem super neurotic, I guess.

______

I could see Nick and Winston going

______

I could see Nick and Winston wanting to go, but then chickening out at the thought of driving to a desert with no food outlets all the way from LA

______

2014: Winston and Schmidt are accidental stowaways with Pink Heart and find a split second of total bliss in the desert before reverting back to their high-strung natural state

______
Yeah, I can guarantee it’s just there for the city scape.
______

I’m a burner and I work on a big network tv show and I have definitely stuck burnery stuff in when I had the chance. I guarantee you someone in their art department is or knows a burner. I have only seen those posters on sale at the store in Empire, I think.

______

That poster has been there since the pilot

______

Didn’t catch it, but YES, SO AWESOME!

______

I think it’s a bit of a laugh that they still bother calling it a counter-culture festival

 ______

Hey, that’s my first burn. I have that same poster hanging in my house.

______
Burning Man was featured on Malcolm in the Middle like a decade ago; it’s not exactly some super secret society to be kept hidden at all costs.
 ______

I think it’s hilarious. A ton of burners work in creative fields and when I see stuff like this (or the character named “Larry Harvey” in season one of “American Horror Story,” or hell, even the Taco Bell commercial with a brief reference to BM) I take it as the creators winking at the rest of us.

______

Hey, you get it! If you watch Revolution, a lot of the extras costumes in the New Vegas episodes are a direct reference to BM. I wish they would let me buy all of it at the end of the season, but sadly, it doesn’t work that way.
